How it works

Three steps to audition

  1. 01

    Meet on Zoom

    Begin with an informal conversation with Founder and Director Rishi Das to discuss your background and what you are looking for in an ensemble.

  2. 02

    Share your art

    Present a short piece at an in-person audition. We will decide together during the Zoom conversation what makes sense for you to share.

  3. 03

    Rehearse with us

    Stay for the full ensemble practice that evening to meet our artists and experience how Nootana works together.

Before you apply

In-person auditions and rehearsals take place on select Sundays at 5:00 PM in Mount Rainier, Maryland. The Zoom conversation happens a few days beforehand, and auditionees arrange their own transportation.

Rehearsals and performances

Nootana rehearses most Sunday evenings, with additional rehearsals scheduled as performances approach.

We present two major productions each year, along with guest performances and community appearances throughout the year.
