Founded in 2012, Nootana is a 100% volunteer-run ensemble based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Our artists combine classical technique with original composition, choreography, storytelling, and contemporary ideas.

Guest performers at the White House
In 2024, Nootana artists were invited to perform as guest musicians for the White House Diwali celebration.

Nootana is proud to be a resident artist ensemble at Joe’s Movement Emporium.
Joe’s gives our musicians and dancers space to rehearse, collaborate, experiment, and develop original productions for audiences throughout the Washington, DC region.
